One benefit concert in Roy, Utah, for instance, helped raise funds to save the life of Grace Hinds, a 9-year-old girl with an unusual—and costly—medical condition. Grace got infected with a virus that caused her immune system to attack her own body instead of fighting off the illness. For three years, Grace had to endure several trips to the hospital and a gruesome recovery.
Since Grace still requires medication and weekly infusions to boost her immunity, her family partnered with the Rainbow Saloon to hold a fundraising concert and raffle. The local community, including musicians and the family’s friends and neighbors, gathered at the local dive bar for the all-day event last September.
